XSTREAMSTORE enables multiple users to work simultaneously in read and write mode from a single storage volume on all Mac OS, Windows and Linux platforms, and all popular applications: Avid*, FinalCut*, Edius*, Resolve*, ProTools*, Scratch*, etc.

XSTREAMSTORE is also equipped with Avid's virtualization function, enabling you to take full advantage of the collaborative working possibilities offered by the Avid Media Composer* solution (Bin Locking, etc.).

The very high bandwidths enable to worksmoothly simultaneously with several video streams at very high resolutions up to 16K. Of course, with such high bandwidths, thousands of audio tracks can be supported for both reading and writing. On a single gigabit network port, XSTREAMSTORE supports a throughput of over 110MB per second, over 1GB/s over a 10Gb connection and over 4GB/s using a 40Gb connection. With native port aggregation for up to 4 Ethernet connections, XSTREAMSTORE enables connection speeds of up to 160Gb/s.

XSTREAMSTORE can be integrated directly into any existing network infrastructure. XSTREAMSTORE volumes can be installed as network storage on client workstations. They can be accessed simultaneously via SMB, NFS and/or FTP/SFTP. XSTREAMSTORE integrates smoothly and rapidly into an Active Directory or OpenLDAP domain.

XSTREAMSTORE is a completely secure system. It is equipped as standard with redundant power supplies, mirrored SSD system disks and power-loss protection. The operating system at the heart of XSTREAMSTORE's performance is based on a specific Unix distribution.

Data storage uses the ZFS file system, offering the highest level of security available today. Its "Copy On Write" architecture makes it impossible to corrupt data and the file system following a sudden interruption. This avoids the need for any automatic file system analysis and rebuilding operations after an outage. In addition, the ZFS-specific RAID-Z architecture protects against the "write hole" phenomenon of inconsistent parity data in conventional RAIDs (1, 4, 5 and 6). This phenomenon, associated with conventional RAID systems, can lead to data corruption or even the impossibility of reconstruction following a disk replacement.

XSTREAMSTORE natively supports snapshot, clone and replication functions:

• incremental SNAPSHOTS can be created automatically or manually. They enable you to take a snapshot of the contents of a volume at a given moment in time, while consuming very little space. For example, if 10MB are modified in a 3GB file between 2 snapshots, the last snapshot will contain only the 10MB of new data. The different versions of the file concerned can then be accessed via the "previous version" function of the client machine on which the volume is mounted. It is also possible to set the retention time for automatic snapshots.

• The CLONE function enables snapshots to be shared and made editable. They can then be read and written by any workstation connected to the XSTREAMSTORE.

• REPLICATION is the ultimate security feature. It enables incremental replication of the main XSTREAMSTORE to another XSTREAMSTORE. Parameters can be programmed for variable retention times, right up to near-real time.

Snapshots, clones and replication all run in block mode. This significantly optimizes the amount of data in motion. For the most critical production environments requiring seamless production continuity, XSTREAMSTORE is also available in a high-availability version (active/passive failover).

The administration interface, called XSTR Administrator, can be accessed from any Mac, Windows or Linux workstation using a simple web browser. You can also control your server from any smartphone or tablet, for simple, mobile management. Ergonomic and intuitive, it features numerous tools for analysis, monitoring, maintenance, volume operations, access rights configuration, backup and more. Naturally, access is regulated by authentication. Volume sharing and dynamic sizing are easily managed in real time. Quotas enable fine-tuned management of storage space according to production and project requirements. Access to shares is regulated visually and intuitively by user or group of users.
